P186: Villa Sværd

P186: Villa Sværd by Morten Vedelsbøl

Construction has commenced on the first timber villa within our Ningitsivik masterplan in Nuuk, Greenland. The house is elevated on slender pillars and anchored by a central in-situ cast concrete core, allowing it to touch the ground lightly and follow the natural terrain. This strategy minimizes blasting and site disturbance while maximizing natural light, panoramic views, and the creation of sheltered interior and exterior spaces.

A winter garden functions as a south-facing, climate-regulating buffer zone, mediating between the entrance bridge and the main living quarters. The project is done in close collaboration with our local partners, Titarneq (Konstruktør) and Tinning (Statiker).
